I'm not getting any sound from the Kontakt Player


The two most common issues preventing audio playback in Kontakt Player are:

  • MIDI is not making its way to the Kontakt instrument (due to DAW routing or MIDI device issues)
  • Audio is not routed out properly

STEP 1: Check Incoming MIDI

If using your instrument in the standalone Kontakt Player via a MIDI controller or electronic drum kit, ensure that the MIDI device is powered on, has drivers installed, and is activated in the Kontakt Player (standalone mode only).


Check the Kontakt instrument controls and turn the "MIDI Ch" input to "Omni". This is especially important when using Kontakt with digital audio workstations. When properly configured, the indicator to the left of this section will light up when incoming MIDI data is received.


STEP 2: Check Audio Settings

If using your instrument in the standalone Kontakt Player, ensure that the proper audio driver and device is selected in the Kontakt Player OPTIONS menu (standalone mode only).
